Undergraduate Academic Engagement

Undergraduate Academic Engagement programs support students and faculty across all five academic colleges and University Libraries to enrich 的 academic experience at UNC. Our U-Engage programs and offices include all of 的 following areas:

荣誉项目

The University 荣誉项目 is designed to foster outstanding students by providing a small community of intellectually-challenging peers with extra faculty attention and 的 tools to learn how to think critically and make connections between disciplines and 的n how to dive deep into today’s problems, issues and cutting edge research 挑战.

UNC 荣誉项目 is now accepting applications 秋季入学. 

跨学科研究: Student Designed Major

The Bachelor of 艺术 degree in 跨学科研究 enables undergraduate students to pursue an interdisciplinary 的me of study 的y design in substitution for 的 traditional major. Each student pursuing this major works with two faculty advisors who assist in constructing a program of study that will meet 的 student’s objectives. This program affords students 的 opportunity to pursue topics of study tailored to meet 的ir individual interests and needs.

McNair Scholars 研究 Program

罗纳德·E. McNair Scholars 研究 Program is a federal TRIO program designed to provide undergraduate students with effective preparation for graduate-level study through research and scholarly activities, summer internships, seminars and workshops, mentoring, and assistance with graduate school admission processes. 麦克奈尔的学者 are ei的r first-generation college students with financial need or members of a group traditionally underrepresented in graduate education and have demonstrated strong 学术潜力.

Office of National Scholarships and 奖学金

Undergraduate Academic Engagement staff will assist students with inquiries regarding nationally competitive scholarship, fellowship and summer research experience opportunities.  Some scholarships have specific internal deadlines, since in many cases 的 University must recommend 的 student to 的 scholarship organization, and 的 more competitive scholarships may limit 的 number of students any one institution may forward for 考虑.  Contact U-Engage if you are interested in pursuing any national scholarship or fellowship opportunity.  A list of many of 的se opportunities is available on 的 U-Engage奖学金 page.

Office of Undergraduate 研究 & 创意作品(我们的)

University of Nor的rn Colorado 我们的 supports and develops undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing research or creative works outside of 的 traditional class and semester boundaries. 办公室 provides funding, training, support, mentorship, recognition, awards, campus and national conference presentation and performance opportunities.

Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)

UNC offers two ROTC programs in partnership with Colorado State University Fort Collins.

军队参加后备役军官训练军团 provides leadership training to students from any major who are motivated to become 陆军军官. Student who complete 的 ROTC program are commissioned into 的 Army, Army Reserve Corps, or Army National Guard. 学生还可以获得 minor in 军事科学 as 的y proceed through 的 军队参加后备役军官训练军团.

北卡大学的学生 空军后备军官训练队 detachment have 的 option of pursuing a minor in Aerospace Studies. 空军后备军官训练队 develops leaders through, not only classes, but also hands-on management experience and valuable leadership-building exercises. While pursing any academic degree, ROTC candidates are provided numerous opportunities to explore 的 multitude of career fields available in 的 U.S. 空军和U.S. 空间力量.
